Francis Clark’s annual Finance in the South West event, now in its 4th year running, will be taking place on Tuesday 23rd February from 08:00 to 14:00 at Exeter Racecourse.

The Seminar brings together specialists representing funding and business support available to businesses in the Heart of the South West LEP area.  This year the keynote speaker will be Radio 4 business and economics journalist Jonty Bloom.

Research has indicated that there is a significant funding gap between funding available from traditional sources of funding and actual business requirements.

Against this background, there is an increased prevalence of the challenger banks, new asset funders and the growing acceptance of peer to peer lending which have provided local business owners with greater access to finance.

Francis Clark’s Finance in the South West event will bring main sources of non-bank funding together to deliver a morning of short presentations to Owner Managers of SW businesses.  Businesses will get the opportunity to hear about the range of funding options including sources of debt, equity and grants including the “alternative finance” options available e.g.crowdfunding and peer to peer platforms and Challenger Banks.

Commenting on the event, Andrew Killick, Corporate Finance Partner at Francis Clark said: “The event provides an ideal opportunity for businesses to hear about a wide range of current funding options direct from many of the providers, in a very succinct and successful format”.
