The finishing touches have been made to the the roof at The Point just 10 weeks from the start of construction.

The Point apartments stand slightly apart from the rest of the development at Exmouth Quay and has a unique modernist design developed by GJR architects.

Chris Fayers from developers Eagle One Homes joined Alan Ringe and David Griffin of GJR architects and Jason Willicombe, Midas Construction’s Site Manager to watch the final work to the skylights.

Alan Ringe from GJR says: “We wanted to exploit the perfect position of The Point to the full. The sweeping curve of the front of the building ensures spectacular views for every apartment and makes a real focal point when you see The Point from the water.”

The apartment complex will consist of a mix of two and three bedroom homes arranged over four storeys. The building will have two stunning penthouses with expansive glass walls on the top floor whilst the ground floor will feature three retail units. Completion is due by the end of the year.

Chris Fayers, Director Eagle One Homes, says: “The panoramic views from The Point apartments are fantastic. It has to be one of the best views in Devon. The large windows facing the sea and river mean these apartments will be full of light and with high specification kitchens and bathrooms they are going to be pretty special.”

The completion of The Point at the end of the year will be the final marker for the full transformation of Exmouth Quay from derelict docks to a vibrant waterside community of over 250 properties and home to 700 people.

Eagle One Homes will make a section 106 contribution of nearly £76,000 to the local community with over £40,000 earmarked for open space, over £30,000 towards education and £5,000 for the Exe estuary.

The developers have also invested more than £1million in the new sea wall and the new car park will be completed for spring 2017.

The market place for Waterside homes of quality in this location remains strong, reflecting a desire by many to pursue a lifestyle change set within a favoured location that is coastal, vibrant and with excellent communication links with the rest of the UK
