RUN, the new devised piece by Engineer Theatre Collective, will open at New Diorama Theatre this November (25th -29th). RUN tells the exhilarating tale of four investment bank interns in desperate pursuit of a career in the city. Inspired by the true story of Moritz Erhardt, a 21 year-old intern who died from an epileptic seizure at his London flat after reportedly working 72 hours straight, RUN exposes the glamour and the grind of the square mile.

Run has been developed in conversation with the freshest financial minds; the people who will be running our banks, trading our stocks and managing our pensions in 15-20 years time. Using striking physicality, sound and contemporary design, award winning theatre company Engineer Theatre Collective give an authentic voice to these young financiers. In this new piece of devised work, they confront the violence, lust and death underpinning our rapacious relationship with money and embark on a gripping exploration of what drives our natural desire for more.

Engineer Theatre Collective are dedicated to creating visually striking, ensemble-led theatre. Broadly influenced by a Lecoq-based training, they seek to explore new and challenging story telling forms. Tom Morris, artistic director of Bristol Old Vic and Co-Director of War Horse described Engineer as: “A really talented and committed company exploring a subject they were passionate about with real skill and a fearless approach to theatrical language.'

RUN is supported by the New Diorama Emerging Companies Fund and supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England. Developed through Fuel’s Jerwood Residencies at Cove Park which are supported by the Jerwood Charitable Foundation.
