Broadclyst Fun Day and family dog show

2016’s Broadclyst Fun Day and Family Dog Show will take place on Saturday 25th June on the Recreation ground, Broadclyst, kicking off at 11am with an action-packed day of kids races, events, displays, stalls and the very popular Family Dog Show with 10 classes commencing at 2pm.

For the young and young at heart, Fun Day offers a plethora of activities, entertainment and stalls to delight engage and wear off some youthful excess energy (where do they get it from…?). The ever-popular kids’ races will start promptly at 11.30 so under starters’ orders: 1-2-3-Go! Entries for the Dog Show will be taken on the day, and the day will close with the popular egg-throw.

All sounds just a bit too energetic and lively for you? Why not meander around the stalls and pitches which offer a wide range of great value goods as well as many ‘come and have a go’ stalls like hook-a-duck, coconut shy, tombola’s and much more! Adults and children always love to admire the fantastic static classic motor-bike display and vote for their favourite bike. Axe Valley Wildlife Park will be coming along with a menagerie of mini-beasts to handle and learn about, the National Trust will running some great family activities, and Wellington Bouncy Castles are delighted to be supporting the Fun Day again this year with a new bigger and higher inflatable slide and their new play deck.

No need to pack a picnic!

We are delighted to welcome back 1st Pinhoe Scouts who will be doing a BBQ; there is also an outside bar, cream teas and ice-creams.

Broadclyst Fun Day offers many local Community and Voluntary groups an opportunity to raise awareness of their work and is a great chance to meet some of the faces behind the scenes. We are delighted to be joined by a wide variety of community groups who turn out every year. Further thanks must go to the National Trust at Killerton for their continuing support for this annual parish event.

Committee member Helen Cutting is delighted to see the event taking shape for this year. “2015 was a fantastic year with over £2,000 being returned to the local community; we are very much looking forward to another successful event this year!”
