Students' Guild

The Students' Guild is the students' union that exists to represent every student at the University of Exeter and to try to ensure that students have the best possible Exeter experience.

The Guild is a democratic organisation. This means that everyone has an equal say in what we do. Every year, four students are voted in as representatives (sabbatical officers) who are the voice of members to the University and wider community. The officers are scrutinised by various committees, to make sure they are doing their job. They are supported by a forum of elected volunteers who represent student-related problems.

The Guild has over 190 student societies covering every interest from politics to Harry Potter. Over 7,000 students join a society each year including our two largest societies: Community Action (volunteering opportunities in the Exeter community) and Raise & Give (fundraising for local, national, international and student charities).

The Students’ Guild Advice Unit provides a support service to students for a wide range of issues including housing, finance and academic-related problems. We also have Voice, a free confidential listening and information service; run by students, for students.
