With people returning to work, how can organisations ‘build back better’?

As part of a series of papers commissioned to mark the centenary of the Work Foundation, Exeter based Dr. Peter Totterdill was invited to contribute a ‘provocation’ paper exploring how UK businesses can innovate to improve working practices and boost performance.

Entitled ‘Are we really serious about securing enhanced productivity, through our people?’ the paper was published this week and, while it was produced prior to the Covid-19 crisis, its proposals for the ways businesses across the country can ‘build back better’ hold new relevance in the context of the current crisis.

Following the latest UK Government guidance which came into effect on Wednesday 13th May, removing restrictions on non-essential home moves and supporting the return of activities related to the sale and purchase of homes, Taylor Wimpey will begin a phased approach to reopening its sales offices and show homes in Devon and Cornwall from Friday 22nd May.

Hendy Group’s service centres have re-opened across the south coast including those in Exeter.

The motor group has now opened all of its aftersales departments after initially keeping four sites open for essential maintenance to key worker vehicles.
