Exeter announces its bid to become the UK’s City of Culture in 2029 

Exeter City Council has today announced it will be submitting an expression of interest (EOI) for the prestigious UK City of Culture title. 

The City of Culture bid follows the culmination of five months extensive engagement and consultation with artists, creatives, cultural organisations and residents to shape the council’s commissioned new five-year Cultural Strategy for Exeter.

Brewin Dolphin celebrate their annual summer party

More than 200 clients and professionals joined the Directors of Wealth Management Company, Brewin Dolphin at Exeter Castle for the local firm’s annual summer party.

Guests were served Prosecco, Pimm’s and canapés in the sunshine and enjoyed classical music from harpist Elizabeth-Jane Baldry.

Representatives of the British Red Cross, Charity of the Year for Brewin Dolphin Exeter office, were also on hand to talk about the works they do and bought along two of their vehicles for guests to explore.

Fans of the Judi Spiers show have lambasted BBC Radio Devon’s managing editor following a formal statement he posted on Facebook.

Three days after listeners were shocked to hear the star was departing (tomorrow) Mark Grinnell has issued a statement saying the decision wasn’t taken lightly.

BBC Radio Devon managing editor Mark Grinnell has finally broken his silence about the decision to sack popular presenter Judi Spiers.

After four days of saying nothing he has published a formal statement via the station’s Facebook page.

It said the following:

LHC team to cycle for Hannahs

On Sunday July 5th, a twenty-strong team of architects and urban designers from LHC’s Exeter and Plymouth studios will cycle across Devon to raise funds for one of the UK’s oldest charities, Devon based Hannahs.

The team will cycle an impressive 58 miles and climb 3750 feet of rolling Devon hills, raising money towards a new £11,000 all-terrain wheelchair that will get more kids and young adults at Hannahs off-the-beaten track and having more adventures, whatever their abilities.
