Friday (24 June) is national Bring Your Dog To Work Day - and Britain’s favourite day at the office is raising an interesting question: do dogs belong in the workplace?

Businesses from across the UK will welcome their dog loving employees into the workplace along with their loyal (and well-behaved!) four-legged companions. The day aims to raise money for All Dogs Matter, a charity which rehomes hundreds of dogs every year in London and Norfolk, while promoting the benefits man’s best friend in the workplace.

A new toolkit to help Exeter’s cultural organisations engage and manage their volunteers effectively will be launched at Exeter’s Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM) on Tuesday 5 July.

Camilla Hampshire, Museums Manager and Cultural Lead, said: “Volunteers are an important part of life at RAMM and much of the guidance is based on our experience, developed over many years, but through this project refined for wider sector usage with our colleagues at the Libraries and Cathedral.

Dunkeswell Parish Council been presented with a Queen's Birthday Youth Award from East Devon District Council in recognition of the support they have given to Dunkeswell Youth Club - In particular 'The Big Show' was supported by the council and through the hard work of Anne Barratt and her team the Youth of Dunkeswell put on a showcase of their talents.

On Friday 24th June, Powderham Castle is inviting everyone to join in the National Cream Tea Day celebrations at the Castle.

Wholesome Devon cream teas will be served in abundance at the Courtenay Café, situated in the courtyard of Powderham Castle, with lashings of full-fat Langage Farm clotted cream and locally produced jam and tea.

The Castle will be open as usual and following a delicious cream tea, visitors can join a guided tour of the Castle and walk through the Castle grounds to burn off any extra calories.
