RGB Building Supplies has reopened its Well Built Community Fund and is calling out to schools, charities and community groups to tell it about projects that have an autumnal theme for the chance to receive £1,000 worth of building materials.

This will be the builders’ merchants’ 20th Community Fund giveaway and whatever the reason for the nomination, RGB would like to hear about it. Maybe a charity needs to make repairs to ensure a building is safe for winter, or perhaps an amateur dramatic group needs help with staging for an autumn performance.

Leading local advice charity, Citizens Advice Exeter, has released the results from its fifth economic well-being survey.

Citizens Advice Exeter Chief Executive Steve Barriball said: “A key finding is that more than half of those who responded to the survey, some 62%, said that they were worried about their financial position.

This is up significantly from 51% earlier in the year. Whilst income levels seem to have stabilised, with 61% of those responding saying their income levels remained the same, only 18% of respondents had seen their expenditure reduce.

Killerton Estate in Devon walked away with the top Overall Drinks Award at the National Trust’s annual Fine Farm Produce Awards, presented at BBC Countryfile Live in the grounds of Blenheim Palace. Following advice from the East Devon District Council Countryside team, the grassland on the Maer Local Nature Reserve in Exmouth will be cut less regularly in order to increase the wildlife and biodiversity on the site.
