Leading natural capital asset manager Oxygen Conservation and independent UK law firm Burges Salmon have announced the signing of a landmark partnership valued at up to £1 million . A top team of environmental experts, charged with ensuring that Devon reduces carbon emissions as quickly as possible, is calling on residents to submit their ideas on how to do it.

The Net-Zero Task Force has been appointed by the Devon Climate Emergency Response Group - made up of Devon’s councils, emergency services and business groups - to deliver the Devon Carbon Plan.

Devon & Cornwall Police and Dartmoor National Park Authority are working closely with partners through the Dartmoor Rural Crime Initiative, an arrangement which was formally adopted on 25 October 2019.

A working group brought together by the partnership arrangement is focussing on issues that have been identified as areas of concern by local communities.

These are reducing antisocial behaviour and increasing safety around illegal raves, reducing incidents of speeding where animals are injured or killed, general road safety on the moor and fly tipping.

Twenty-six Browne Jacobson trainees have raised over £11k for the firm’s five charity partners after completing the last of three endurance testing events this weekend.

The final challenge saw 14 of the trainees forfeiting their home comforts by taking part in an Autumnal Sleep Out in the firm’s office gardens in Nottingham that tied in with National Homeless Awareness Week.

The group smashed their £7k target set out earlier in the year with all the proceeds being divided equally between all five partner charities.

A new report from the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has revealed the true extent of crime and its impact on businesses in the South West.

The report found that in the South West, almost a third (32%) of small firms have been the victim of a traditional crime such as theft, criminal damage and assault. Meanwhile around 23% of small firms in the region have been hit by some form of cybercrime including phishing, malware and data theft.

Devon's GripHero Ltd, the developer of the world’s first fuel nozzle-mounted hand-protection dispenser, has announced that it has succeeded in cutting hand-protection related plastic waste on forecourts by an average of 55%.
