The new job has been going well, so well that there is a budget for travel more specifically a budget for you to travel, whether that be through the fact your personal endeavours as an entrepreneur have become fruitful or your hard work for the company is finally paying off. Travel is a huge responsibility as everything you do is representing that brand or company abroad, not only are you representing it's also a test of your financial management skills. With all this in mind take some tips with you to ensure you get booked again.

  1. Not a holiday, so often when we book something that is travel abroad our brain clicks into the tried and tested holiday mode, so we look for luxury at affordable prices, we get extras that are not needed, think of places to see. None of this is important when you are on a business trip, the first and most important thing to be doing is making the trip a viable consistency, so if you are headed overseas look for the best hotel with minimum comforts, you need a bed, a shower, a toilet and an ironing board which is about it, if you look for these things you will save money and make the business grow rather than suffer.
  2. Flight price, Use a site that will give you the best comparisons like Skyscanner or Kayak and others, find the best time and price that suits the meeting, sometimes you could find the best price for the flight and then book the meeting.
  3. Keep to a routine, this is one of the most important tips you can take, if you start the day healthily with exercise, yoga, light breakfast, then continue this when you are abroad on business, this way your mind will be as steely as it is back home.
  4. Snap up a car, if the transport systems for where you're headed are not in the same condition that you are used to at home or don't reach where your first meeting is then book a car ahead of time using a site like EnjoyCarHire they run out of most major airports. Always research the option of public transport as well because most cities around the world have reliable networks.
  5. If you have managed to achieve all the above then right at the end of the trip you could afford a light bit of leisure for yourself, no one enjoys being in another city and not seeing some of the sites, find a monument or a gallery or even a pier to walk along and reflect on the job you've completed, it will do wonders for how you see business travel as a positive necessity.
