Police appeal after racially aggravated incident in Exeter

Police are seeking witnesses after officers were notified of an alleged racially aggravated public order offence outside the Islamic Centre in Exeter on Saturday 10 June 2017.

The incident occurred around 8.30pm just after a peace walk and vigil in Bedford Square, Exeter, which had been arrange by Exeter Mosque and attended by hundreds of people.

Shortly after the vigil, three men attended Exeter Mosque and allegedly made racially aggravated verbally abusive comments to those within.

Exeter residents are invited to put forward questions to members of the joint County and City Councils' Exeter Board, at their next meeting on Thursday 13 July at 5:30pm at the Civic Centre in Paris Street.

Parents are urged to follow the advice issued by the Devon, Somerset and Torbay Trading Standards Service when purchasing baby sleep bags after some brands failed quality tests.

Baby sleep bags are full length fabric bags with a neck opening and armholes but without sleeves or a hood. They are designed to keep the baby warm, when sleeping in a cot or Moses basket from Kidsco , without the need for extra bedding.

The innovative business will not only offer high quality refurbished bikes and servicing but also valuable training opportunities to some of the most marginalised members of society. This is a joint venture between two charities: Julian House and Exeter Community Initiatives (ECI).

As National Armed Forces Day approaches (June 24) a trio of former marines are shouting about the career opportunities for ex-military personnel in the South West.

Research from the Royal British Legion last year showed discrimination was making it difficult for veterans to find jobs after leaving the armed forces. Berry Recruitment Group (BRG) has announced an increased turnover of £62m for 2016 – a figure that has more than doubled in the last five years. The national recruiter showed a gross profit of nearly £13m with earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of £1.9m. The net cash flow generated from operations was in excess of £2.3m in the year. Exeter celebrates Armed Forces Day on Saturday (17 June) with a parade through the city centre and a military village on the Cathedral Green.

Armed Forces Day is a chance to show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community; from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets.
