Overnight resurfacing on Heavitree Road

Overnight resurfacing work will be carried out on Heavitree Road in Exeter over the next two weeks.

Sections of the road will be closed from 7pm to 7am on Wednesday (2 August), Thursday (3 August) and Friday (4 August). Staff from Old Mill have raised £19,604 by cycling 207 in memory of Exeter employee Nick Baker, who sadly lost a short and sudden battle with cancer in August last year.

Five dementia researchers at the University of Exeter have pedalled over an epic 350 miles from London to Paris, raising thousands of pounds for Alzheimer’s Society in a gruelling four day challenge.

Tread carefully: No excuse for being on the road with illegal tyres

Local police officers are out and about near Exeter this week to check that vehicles have safe and legal tyres fitted.

The maximum penalty for driving with defective tyres is three penalty points and a £2,500 fine…and that’s per tyre.
