The Devon-wide health and wellbeing charity, Westbank Community Health and Care, is delighted to welcome lawyer Henry Cross as its newest Trustee. Henry is a Senior Associate at Michelmores, specialising in employment law.

A father-of-two from Exeter, Henry already had a broad awareness of the charity when he met Westbank’s Head of Carers Services, Andy Hood, at a networking event a few years ago. Essential resurfacing will be carried out at Longford Lane in Kingsteignton later this month (February).

Work will be carried out during the half term week, starting on Monday 18 February.

The road will be closed each day from 7am to 6pm between Rydon Road and the A383 Ware Cross Roundabout, with the scheme expected to be completed by the end of Friday 22 February.

East Devon District Council taking up residence at its new Honiton HQ

East Devon District Council is relocating to its new headquarters at Blackdown House on the outskirts of Honiton and will be open for business at 8.30am on Monday February 11, 2019. In a phased approach taking place over three weeks, staff are leaving the council’s old offices at Knowle, Sidmouth. The Sidmouth offices will cease operations and close down at 5pm on Friday February 8. BT Group contributes £1.3bn to South West economy

BT Group is responsible for generating £1 in every £95 produced in the South West’s economy, according to an independent report published this week.

‘The Economic Impact of BT Group plc in the UK’ report, by Hatch Regeneris, shows that the communications company generated a £1.3 billion contribution – expressed as “Gross Value Added” (GVA)* – to the South West economy during the 2017/18 financial year.

The Yealm Ward at Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital has been voted as a winner of RGB Building Supplies’ Well Built Community Fund and now has £1,000 to spend on building materials.

The hospital received the most votes following a public poll where it was up against the Cornwall Wildlife Trust and Court Fields Pre-school in Wellington.
