A Redrow site manager at St Michael's Meadow has won a top national award for the quality of the homes they’re building in Exeter.

Roy Taylor has won a Pride in the Job award from the National House Building Council (NHBC) for the second consecutive year. This follows his success in 2025 when he achieved the Seal of Excellence in the regional stage of the competition – an accolade awarded to only the top 5% of site managers in the UK.

Foot Anstey works with Empire Fighting Chance to donate 70 laptops to charities across the South and South West

Foot Anstey LLP has partnered with Bristol-based charity Empire Fighting Chance to donate 70 laptops to five charities based near its offices across the South and South West.

The laptops will help reduce the digital divide that impacts many communities. In 2021, Ofcom reported that one in five children who had been home-schooling did not have access to an appropriate device for their schoolwork all the time1. The laptop donation will help support those without digital access, which is vital for education, work and personal development.

Princesshay is set to welcome international stationery store, Paperchase, back to Exeter. The iconic brand which stocks beautiful stationery, design-led cards, gifts and wrapping paper will open later this month, next to Lush.

It’s a 4-day week for the tribe at Tyler Grange Exeter

Exeter landscape planning, ecology and arboriculture consultancy, Tyler Grange has become the first in their industry to sign up to the 4-day week pilot programme - beginning in June. More than 3,000 workers at 60 companies across the UK are taking part in the trial.

In association with 4-Day Week Global , UK think tank Autonomy and researchers at Cambridge University, Boston College and Oxford University, the pilot programme will initially run for six months and will see reduced hours but no loss of income for Tyler Grange’s employees.

Michelmores' female partnership level exceeds 40% with the promotion of four new partners

UK law firm Michelmores has announced its latest round of promotions which includes four of its female Senior Associates to Partner level. The promotions bring the Firm's partnership to 72 and increase its proportion of female partners to over 40%.

A leading builders merchant has marked the opening of a new branch in Exeter by supporting a south west charity and hosting a special darts event.

As part of its ongoing expansion around the UK, Selco Builders Warehouse has cut the ribbon on a new branch on Filmer Way in Marsh Barton, its 73rd in the UK.

Foot Anstey LLP has welcomed its first cohort of Year 12 and 13 work experience students as part of its Activate Work Experience Programme in its Bristol, Exeter and Southampton offices.

Zeal submits planning for sustainable hotel at Exeter Science Park

Zeal Hotels has submitted plans to East Devon District Council to develop a sustainable hotel at Exeter Science Park under its own brand.

The 142-room hotel will be the first of a number of sustainable hotels Zeal Hotels plans to open around the UK.

The development, which is backed by a private investor, will be operated by a third-party management company. Confirmation of the hotel’s operator is expected within the next two months.

This week marked a landmark moment for our organisation, as the doors to the Courtyard Exeter Sandy Park Hotel opened to the public.
