Wyvern Barracks opens its gates to the public for the first time

Exeter's Wyvern Barracks, home of the reservist battalion 6 Rifles, is opening its imposing metal gates to the public this summer, in the first event of its kind at the site.

Redrow Homes is returning once again to the Devon County Show as sponsor and exhibitor following its success at last year’s popular county event.

Summer Sunday trains to and from Okehampton will return later this month.

The Great Western Railway (GWR) service, funded by Devon County Council, will run four trains each way between Okehampton and Exeter every Sunday, from Sunday 20 May to Sunday 9 September.

The service, which launched in 1997, is part of the ongoing efforts to re-introduce regular services on the line.

Road users are being encouraged to plan their journeys into and around Exeter on Thursday 10 May when the new IKEA store opens to the public.
