The Devon-wide health and wellbeing charity, Westbank Community Health and Care, is delighted to welcome lawyer Henry Cross as its newest Trustee. Henry is a Senior Associate at Michelmores, specialising in employment law.

A father-of-two from Exeter, Henry already had a broad awareness of the charity when he met Westbank’s Head of Carers Services, Andy Hood, at a networking event a few years ago. Exeter-based tech company named in global top 10 VR experiences of 2019

A virtual reality simulation developed near Exeter has made a global list of top 10 VR experiences for 2019.

The training simulation was developed for Concawe, a safety advisory board for the European oil refinery industry.

It is designed to train oil refinery plant operators in hazard perception techniques and safety awareness, using gaze strategy research from academics at the University of Exeter.

Staff at local insurer The Exeter have raised an incredible £21,716.64 for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

The health and life cover specialists, based at the Exeter Business Park in Emperor way, chose CHSW as their charity partner in 2019 and staff stepped up to support the cause in a number of ways.

Five star housebuilder Barratt Developments has built 591 new homes in the Exeter region in the last 12 months, and brought more than £37 million to local communities.

Taylor Wimpey Exeter have helped the ladies’ team at Exeter Water Polo Club run swimmingly with a £500 donation towards their first national competition.

The club, based at Pyramids Swimming and Leisure Centre was founded in 1896. Their men’s, ladies’ and youth teams compete locally, regionally and nationally, with the ladies’ team making their debut on the national stage in August last year. RGB Building Supplies has selected Exeter’s Ladysmith Junior School as a finalist in their latest Well Built Community Fund, and it’s now down to a public vote to see if it’s chosen to receive £1,000, to spend at an RGB branch.

Three qualified mental health first aiders at Pennon Water Services have picked up a top award from their parent company, Pennon Group plc.

Samantha Hamilton-Welsh, Lorna Harrington and Damon Jones devised and implemented a mental health programme for Pennon Water Services (PWS).
