Devon-based Sandford Orchards is celebrating a fantastic year of awards for its new non-alcoholic cider, Red Zero. It has just been named ‘Low and No Alcohol Category Champion’ by Taste of the West after winning Best Non-Alcoholic Cider at the World Cider Awards, Best New Drink at the Food Drink Devon Awards, Gold from The Farm Shop and Deli Awards and Silver from the Great British Food Awards.

The 5th Okehampton Food and Music Festival will take place on Saturday 24 June.

Building on the success of previous years, the 2017 Festival will provide even more music, a wide range of foods and special events and a fun evening of music.

Summer brings award success to the shores of Exmouth with the Grapevine Brewhouse, on site brewery Crossed Anchors and resident Ruby Kitchen all winning regional awards.

At the Taste of the West Awards Crossed Anchors won four GOLD product awards for their craft beers. The 2017 Ottery St Mary Food & Families Festival has been officially launched with an event at Tickety-Boo in the town centre.

A group of students aged 11-13 and their families from Cranbrook Educational Campus have taken part in a ‘ready, steady, cook!’ style series of healthy cooking sessions provided by Axminster charity HALFF (Health and Local Food for Families).

Exeter researchers say computer game could help children choose healthy food

A simple brain-training game could help children choose healthy snacks instead of chocolate and sweets, according to a new study.

Children who played a seven-minute game devised by University of Exeter psychologists made healthier choices when asked to pick foods afterwards.
