This year has seen the Freemasons celebrate their tercentenary and as part of their annual support of hospices throughout the country the Assistant Provincial Grand Master of Devonshire W. Bro. Peter Keaty can be seen here presenting a certificate denoting the £2,080 given on behalf of the Masonic Charitable Foundation to Julie Wakley, Inpatient Unit Team Leader of Hospiscare’s Searle House Hospice in Exeter.

Women and girls we have a date for your diaries! Saturday 7th July sees the return of the annual Hospiscare Twilight Walk . This year’s theme is “Pink Fizz”, so dig out all things pink to wear and there will be a glass of 'fizz' waiting for you on your return. The walk is once again kindly sponsored by Western Power Distribution.

The sponsored walk starts from The Maer, Exmouth and both routes take in stunning views of the coast. There will be entertainment at the start and along the route, and a well-deserved glass of 'fizz', a bacon sandwich and a cuppa at the end.

Staff at Mercedes-Benz of Exeter joined the fight against heart disease by holding a Cake Sale for their customers on Valentine’s day. The local community came out in force to show their support of the nation’s heart charity with the team raising over £120 throughout the day.

Lauren Marsh, Front of House Supervisor, said “We are so thankful to everyone who donated and took part in raising funds. I am very proud and impressed with how much we’ve raised and we all hope it will make a real difference”.

Buckfast Abbey is giving thanks for the thousandth anniversary of its foundation through the setting up of the Millennium Fund to support Devon hospice charities. All proceeds from the Millennium events will go towards the fund, which will then be split between Rowcroft Hospice, Hospiscare, North Devon Hospice, Children’s Hospice South West and St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth.
