Figures have been released for Devon and Cornwall Police’s Christmas drink and drug driving campaign 2015.
Police officers administered a total of 1974 breath tests of which 177 were positive, refused or failed to provide. This represents 9% of the total.
Last year the figures were 156 positive, refused or failed to provide from a total of 1766 also 9%, showing the overall percentage of positive tests has remained static.

A successful policing operation which helps to track stolen goods has taken to social media to widen the fight against theft.
Op Inheritance was set up in 2012 to reduce the trade in stolen goods and reunite recovered property with its rightful owners.
Now officers are taking the operation to Facebook and Twitter to reach a much larger audience with warnings and information about stolen items in circulation.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses after a fatal road traffic collision on the A374 at Torpoint in which a woman pensioner was killed on Monday evening, January 25, 2016.
The collision occurred at around 5.15pm near to Anthony House when the pedestrian 72-year-old Jennifer Lowden, from Torpoint, was involved in a collision with a red Nissan Micra car.
Ms Lowden was treated at the scene by air ambulance paramedics, but died a short time later.

Three Lithuanian men have been jailed for a total of 21 years at Exeter Crown Court today (Tuesday 26 January) after being found guilty of conspiracy to commit burglaries in Devon and Sussex.
Tomas Paulavicius, 36 (pictured left), was sentenced to eight years in prison, Dainius Gastilavicius, 39 (centre), was given seven years, and Arturas Malysovas, 21 (pictured right), was sentenced to six years in prison.
