New motorbike for Fire Bike team

Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service’s bike advocate team have taken delivery of a new Triumph motorbike. The bike is part of the services road safety educational toolkit for educating and raising awareness with bikers.

In order for the Fire Service to work effectively with the most at risk groups, they have vehicles which help them interact with drivers of all ages in a way that is more meaningful for them. At 9am on Monday 3rd April, the Exeter & East Devon Enterprise Zone opened for business.

The Enterprise Zone will provide business rate relief for new and growing businesses, worth up to £55,000 per business year on year, for up to five years.

Crealy Adventure Park & Resort launched two brand new features this weekend - the new Junior Driving School ride and the theme park’s first Pop in the Park event. Pop in the Park saw Adele, Bruno Mars, Madonna and Gary Barlow tribute acts singing their top hits on the stage and working the crowd, at the first event of its kind. ‘Heaven Sent’ sculpture arrives in Princesshay

This spring, Princesshay plays host to a large and exciting sculpture across the Easter period for three weeks.

Chagstock Festival have announced that day tickets are now on sale for 2017.

Friday’s line-up includes Soul II Soul, Raghu Dixit, Slamboree and Undercover Hippy, whilst Saturday features The Shires, Dub Pistols, Skinny Lister, Mr Tea & The Minions, and house band New Crisis (featuring festival organiser Si Ford).

RAMM Friends fill the gap

The Friends of Exeter’s Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery (RAMM) have added miniature by the renowned 19th-century Exeter miniaturist, James Leakey (1775-1865), to the city’s Fine Art collection.

The collection includes his drawings, portraits and landscapes but no miniatures; a significant gap for an artist whose reputation as a miniaturist extended beyond the borders of his Devonshire home. Research that revealed the gap was prompted by an enquiry by his descendants.
