If you have visited Teignmouth you will probably have visited the TAAG Arts and Community Centre in the town's Arts Quarter.

The Community Centre was created from a derelict commercial garage 10 years ago and since then has been serving the local community with arts and well-being workshops, galleries and related facilities. The Council planned to demolish it as part of their development plans but strong local support led to the building being offered to TAAG to buy.

Stay away from Devon says county council

Devon County Council has sent an all-party message to holidaymakers and second home owners: Stay away from the South West during the current crisis.

And the council is calling for much tougher penalties to be imposed on people who flout the rules.

Council leader John Hart said he was planning to meet the leaders and chief executives of all Devon's district councils to discuss co-ordinated enforcement action against holiday providers who continue to take bookings.

In response to the worldwide pandemic, Devon based Darts Farm is working closely with Exeter Foodbank to help create ‘ Easter Tuck Boxes’ to give to people within their community that need it the most this Easter. Hundreds rally to help care for Devon’s vulnerable residents

Hundreds of people from across Devon have answered the call to help care for the county’s most vulnerable residents.

It followed an appeal last week by Devon County Council, as it launched an urgent campaign to recruit Healthcare Assistants – a vital role to support social care providers and the NHS during the coronavirus pandemic.

Devon, Somerset and Torbay Trading Standards is reminding owners of guest houses, campsites and restaurants to remain closed this Easter to help combat coronavirus.

On March 23 the Government ordered hospitality businesses to close and said that people should stay at home and only essential travel is permitted.

With very few exceptions all hotels, bed and breakfasts, hostels, holiday rentals, campsites and boarding houses should be closed for commercial use until further notice.

Exeter Rugby Club chief executive, Tony Rowe OBE, has today spoken of his delight after it was confirmed that the newly-formed Chiefs’ Women’s side have had their application to join the Tyrrells Premier 15s division for the 2020/21-2022/23 seasons accepted.

Devon Community Foundation has awarded a grant from the community fund to The Nest Southwest CIC to provide ongoing support and information to birthing families in the Exeter, Exmouth and surrounding areas. The grant will be used to continue their work holding weekly Pregnancy Well-being Sessions online to support pregnant women and their partners stuck in self-isolation at home during the pandemic.
