This November's concert has great variety; an ever-popular classic concerto; Copland's well-known music surrounding the american hero Billy the Kid, and one of Nielsen's wonderfully expansive and expressive symphonies. We have played music by both Copland and Nielsen before, and the audience reception has been very warm and enthusiastic so we thought we would give you all some more.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue have formally handed the Royal Clarence Hotel back to their owners and the emergency response phase of the fire has now ended.
Strategic demolition of any parts of the hotel will now take place once comprehensive risk assessments have been carried out by contractors, to protect public safety and to avoid any further damage.
Half term week was also the Little Fireface Project’s S.L.O.W. (Slow Loris Outreach Week) and here at Shaldon Zoo we were busy raising awareness and funds for this enigmatic and endangered primate which is related to bushbabies and lemurs!
Found throughout South and Southeast Asia, these shy nocturnal primates have a deadly secret ... they have a toxic bite! Due to their undeniably cute appearance, slow lorises are heavily affected by the illegal pet trade and because of the ability to deliver a venomous bite, traders pull their teeth out with wire cutters or pliers before selling...

Devon County Council is well prepared to keep the county moving over the coming...
“The chance to make history” is the way that TV presenter and naturalist Chris Packham is describing a campaign by the Devon Wildlife Trust. The wildlife charity urgently needs to raise a minimum of £100,000 from a crowdfunding campaign to have a chance of securing the future of England’s only wild population of beavers.
The beavers have made their home on the River Otter in East Devon.
After being discovered in 2013 the beavers were originally set to be removed by government officials. However, a partnership led by Devon Wildlife Trust and involving local people and local...
