The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust is among a handful of hospitals across the country to have been awarded Exemplar status for its Radiology department.
The prestigious status, conferred by the British Society of Interventional Radiology, has been given to only nine hospitals nationwide.

Russia’s investigative committee has announced they are to prosecute around 29 Greenpeace activists, who were arrested last Thursday (19 September) following an attempt to climb the Prirazlomnaya oil-drilling platform off the Russian coast. Two Greenpeace activists from the international crew of the Arctic Sunrise were detained during this attempt on the 18 September, with the remaining activists arrested the following day. A 24-year-old man has been arrested in Exmouth following a police armed response to reports of a male in possession of a firearm in the town on Saturday evening.
The man was arrested at 10.40pm on Saturday evening on suspicion of aggravated burglary. He is currently in custody in Exeter.

Hundreds of thousands of spectators were left feeling “on top of the world” in Devon today (Friday 20 September) after joining The Tour of Britain’s 10th anniversary celebrations.
Stage Six of this year’s Tour, hosted by Devon County Council, started in Sidmouth on East Devon’s Jurassic Coast with a warm welcome from fans and the warmest weather of the race so far.

Spectators flooded to Exeter today to catch a glimpse of the Tour of Britain. The high street saw the five lead cyclists compete for points on the sprint before the peloton (main pack of riders) came past. Among the crowds, children from St Sidwell's Primary School lined up outside the school gates to cheer on the riders with a banner saying ‘Go Bradley’. On Topsham road parents and pupils from St Leonard's Primary School and the Exeter Academy for the Deaf also gave their support. The cyclists will continued through Devon before reaching the finish line atop Dartmoor.
A woman out running with her partner has been seriously injured after running into a rope that had been deliberately tied across the pathway on a footbridge, near to Double Locks in Exeter. The woman, aged 33, is understood to have suffered a serious neck injury and is in hospital. Her condition is being described as stable but serious.
