Well known around Teignmouth the Estuary Bouys are appearing in Exeter for the first time. The threesome - Martyn ,percussion and vocals, Phil, acoustic guitar, mandolin and vocals, and Chris, acoustic guitar and vocals, play a lively mix of rock and pop with a bit of folk. Following their Exeter debut in 2013 Blackdowns Early Music Projects return to the Cathedral 7.30pm August 31st with another programme of spectacular baroque choral works performed by an impressive line up of musicians.

Record crowds attend Dartmoor Folk Festival

A resurgence in the popularity of folk music, song, dance and crafts resulted in record crowds attending the 38th Dartmoor Folk Festival at the weekend.

Local and national artists entertained audiences at the event held at South Zeal, near Okehampton.

The festival included concerts, dances, a Dartmoor Fayre, a ceilidh, folk service, craft displays, music hall, pub sessions, a ramble on Dartmoor and music, song and dance workshops.

The packed programme of events also included a dedicated children’s festival.
