A leading South West law firm has been shortlisted for two prestigious industry awards.

Stephens Scown LLP, which has offices in Exeter, Truro and St Austell has been shortlisted for the Modern Law Awards in the Law Firm of the Year and Client Care Initiative of the Year categories. The winners will be announced at an event in London on 15 October.

Exeter businesses indicate an end to the employee pay freeze

The latest Exeter Business Survey, carried out by Exeter Chamber of Commerce, shows the highest ever percentage of Exeter businesses planning to increase employees salaries.

90% of businesses surveyed said they will not be implementing a pay freeze for their staff, the highest figure since the survey began in March 2007.

Exeter Chamber of Commerce and Industry met with the Bank of England, on 18 September 2014 to report the findings of their Business Survey, for the last quarter.

Devonshire Motors has welcomed back former Workshop Controller Phil Wells as its new After Sales Manager.

The 33-year-old originally started in the Barnstaple-based Mitsubishi dealership in 2010. For family reasons, he moved to a BMW dealership 18 months ago but was wooed back earlier this month by Devonshire’s Dealer Principal, Nathan Tomlinson.
