A new pedestrian and cycle bridge just north of Junction 29 of the M5 at Exeter opened for public use on Friday afternoon (February 2).
The 60-metre Tithebarn Lane bridge was first lifted into place in November. Since then contractors have been finishing work on the bridge and constructing and surfacing the cycle path approaching the bridge. Work is progressing well on a major stabilisation scheme on the A377 at Chapel Downs in Crediton.
Essential repairs and reconstruction work started earlier this month on a 30 metre stretch, between Queen Elizabeth Drive and Higher Road, where the edge of the road is cracking due to an unstable embankment. The scheme is on schedule to be completed by 12 February.

Police have found the body of a deceased boy in Cullompton this morning, Thursday 1 February.
The family of Patrick Henwood, a 14-year-old boy who was reported missing from the Cullompton area last night (Wednesday 31 January) and was part of an earlier missing person appeal, have been informed of this development.
Formal identification has yet to have taken place and police are not currently treating this death as suspicious.
