Global thought leaders Like Minds return to Exeter this September for their annual flagship event, the Like Minds “Innovation & Ideas Festival”.

England World Cup games to be shown on big screen at St James Park

World’s toughest rowing challenge boat launched to raise funds for Devon charity

Devon businessman Mark Sealey and Army veteran Alan Bustin-Mulkern have launched the boat that will carry them right the way through the world’s toughest rowing race – the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge.

With the aim of raising huge amounts for blood-delivery charity Devon Freewheelers Emergency Voluntary Service (EVS) – also known as the Blood Bikes – Alan and Mark launched their boat for the colossal challenge at the Royal Western Yacht Club in Plymouth.

Exeter motorists' average car insurance premiums tumble in 2018

There’s finally some good news for motorists in the South West, after new data has revealed car insurance premiums are tumbling in 2018.

Quarterly data released by the UK’s leading price comparison website, MoneySuperMarket, highlights a significant drop in the price of car insurance, with the average fully comprehensive policy falling £70 in the first three months of 2018, from £574.11 to £504.

A retired crown court usher recently diagnosed with dementia is taking part in research to ensure a cure is found before any of her loved ones suffer the same fate.

Eighty-year-old Ann Matthews, from Exeter, was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s disease at the end of last year. She is currently taking part in a clinical trial at Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust.

Ann, who lives with her husband Tony, has shared her story as part of Dementia Action Week, which takes place from 21-27 May, and hopes others will be encouraged to take part in research...

Stagecoach celebrates SW Falcon carrying over 500,000 passengers

The South West Falcon from Stagecoach today celebrated carrying over half a million passengers by surprising customers boarding the service at Plymouth Coach Station.

Shaun Pike appointed as site manager for Barratt Homes’ new Exeter development

Shaun Pike has been appointed as site manager at Minerva - Barratt Homes’ new development in Exeter where work is underway to create a community of 159 new homes.

Shaun will be responsible for overseeing construction at the site, liaising with construction workers, subcontractors and suppliers.
