Places are filling up fast for Exeter City FC’s Football in the Community roadshows, which are running throughout the summer holidays across the region.

Next week sees a full week of Grecian Days, which always prove very popular with those who want a look behind the scenes at the football club. Children get a ground tour - and a chance to sit in the boardroom and in the dugout - Domino's Pizza for lunch and lots of fun and games in the Grecian Centre, including DVDs, kit-design competitions and activities.

Lottery winner drives away with £100,000

An Exeter resident has a huge amount to celebrate this weekend after winning not only his dream car, but £100,000 thanks to charity lottery, People’s Postcode Lottery. Peter Sergeant, 69, had been enjoying a coffee morning in his sheltered accommodation when he was surprised by People’s Postcode Lottery presenter, Scott Quinnell. Peter, who has only been playing the People’s Postcode Lottery since March this year, was delighted to find out that his postcode EX1 1SE had won him £100,000 and his dream car, BMW 1 series. “It’s absolutely wonderful news,” said Peter. “I’m so, so happy.” Peter...

Urgent Police appeal for help in search for missing Exeter lady

Update 29 July 2pm: Police have released two more photographs of Alma Royle, which were taken in the local Co-op store on Dunsford Road on the day she went missing (Friday 26 July).

29 July 7.20am: Alma Royle, last seen in Heron Way, St Thomas, is still missing and Police are increasingly concerned for her safety. They have enlisted the help of mountain rescue teams to help find her, but are also asking the public to keep their eyes open.

University of Exeter’s campuses named as two of the best in the country

The University of Exeter’s Streatham and St Luke’s campuses are among the record-breaking 1,447 parks and green spaces that will today receive a prestigious Green Flag Award.

The national award, handed out by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy, recognises and rewards the best parks and green spaces across the country.

A Green Flag flying overhead is a sign to visitors that the space boasts the highest possible standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent facilities.

Devon’s NHS to “discover the secrets of the John Lewis customer experience”

The NHS in Devon has teamed up with award-winning department store John Lewis to find out why its customers have such a great experience.

Northern, Eastern and Western Devon Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) chief nurse Jenny Winslade said the CCG wanted to learn from John Lewis “hearing how the department store approaches customer satisfaction could help the NHS translate this into improved patient care.”

Police appeal for witnesses following serious collision in Exeter

Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious collision between a car and cyclist in Exeter on Sunday 28 July. The collision happened at around 7.40pm on Topsham Road, at the junction with Higher Wear Road. Police believe the silver Ford Fiesta was travelling along Topsham Road from Topsham, heading towards Countess Wear, when the cyclist emerged from the nearside before being struck by the car. The 30-year-old male cyclist was taken to the RD&E hospital with extensive injuries including a head injury. He has since been transferred to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth. The 18-year-...

Crealy to host character-themed days throughout August

Crealy Adventure Park is offering visitors some fantastic character themed days across various dates in August. Children’s favourites including Peppa Pig and Bob the Builder will be available to meet on days across August.

Hollow Lane Club celebrates Lottery Success

The Hollow Lane Club, based at Ellen Tinkham School in Exeter, has been awarded over £100,000 of lottery funding. The award, which runs for three years, will help fund an annual Summer Club as well as regular After School and Saturday sessions for children with physical and learning disabilities in Devon.
