Pets at Home has demonstrated its commitment to Exeter pet owners by investing more than £225,000 in renovating its store located on Exeter Retail Park.

Guildhall puts shoppers' health first

Exeter’s Guildhall Shopping Centre is making the city a safer place to shop with the help of the nation’s leading first aid charity.

The centre’s management team has purchased a portable Automated External Defibrillator (AEDs) – life saving equipment that can shock the heart to restart it after a cardiac arrest – from St John Ambulance.

And first aiders have been given training to ensure they can respond quickly in a life-threatening emergency.

Food handlers working in Exeter’s Chinese restaurants and takeaways are being offered the opportunity to gain a hygiene award when the Council runs a Cantonese and Mandarin training event next week.

Rare Bat Project wins Funding

Conservationists have been awarded funding to develop plans to protect a rare species of bat in Devon. The funding secured by Devon Wildlife Trust from the Heritage Lottery Fund for will go towards a project protecting the Greater Horseshoe Bat. The project plan to be developed over the next 12 months by the Greater Horseshoe Bat Partnership could then see a further £750,000 in long-term funding. “In the last century they’ve seen their numbers decline by 90% and Devon and the wider South West, is really the last remaining stronghold for that species.” said Steve Hussey of the Devon...

Byron is set to open its newest restaurant in Exeter’s Princesshay. The group of hamburger restaurants has a number of outlets across the UK, mainly in London, as well as a number of other cities including Manchester and Oxford.
