Police are appealing for information following a burglary at a home in Aylesbeare, Exeter, on Saturday (10 May). Offenders forced a door to get inside the home sometime between 9.30am and 7pm. After making an untidy search of the house, they stole a black laptop, a still camera and a £1,500 projector, various items of jewellery and a brass compass in a box. They also took a distinctive scalloped edged silver tray engraved with ‘Ultra International’ which was from a conference in New Delhi. The husband of a Devon woman killed while on a fundraising cycle challenge has thanked donators from around the world for their generosity. Berry Recruitment has seen pre-tax profit rise by 82 per cent to over £1 million, its latest accounts have revealed. The consultancy with 26 branches across the country, including one in Exeter, also recorded a significant rise in turnover to more than £42 million. A man died when his tractor overturned after leaving a field.
Police, fire and ambulance services were called to the scene at Northmostown near Sidmouth yesterday afternoon (Monday May 19).
The tractor had been towing a trailer when it overturned just before 12:50pm. The male driver was trapped and despite the efforts of emergency crews died at the scene.
Police and Crime Commissioner Tony Hogg has begun a consultation process which will see communities across Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly set their own list of restorative sanctions for low level offences.
