Haydn Thomas says he is "excited" at the challenge that lies ahead for Exeter Chiefs following today's European Professional Rugby Challenge Cup draw in Switzerland.

Fans of rock giants Bon Jovi will be heading for Exeter Corn Exchange on Friday 27 June when the Bon Jovi Experience perform live at the city centre venue.

Byron opens its doors in Exeter

Byron, the proper hamburger specialists, will open their first South West restaurant in Princesshay, Exeter on Friday (13 June).

The restaurant serves classic hamburgers, including a regularly-changing special, plus sides, salads and desserts, including vegetarian options, a children’s menu and takeaway.

Beneift claimants worried about Universal Credit

A survey carried out by local charity, Exeter Citizens Advice Bureau, shows that many people in Exeter will struggle to deal with universal credit without support.

For most claimants, Universal Credit will eventually replace:

Bowling Green Marsh flood defence wall fixed

A flood defence wall damaged by the storms at the start of the year has been repaired.

Exeter City Council has funded the repairs to the wall at Bowling Green Marsh, Topsham.

Contractors working for the City Council began work on 28 April and have now finished on schedule.

A large section of the coastal defence alongside the River Clyst frontage was severely damaged during the high tides and storm damage in January and February. Devon and Cornwall’s Police and Crime Commissioner is calling for action to prevent a continual drain on resources to support national policing. As part of the "mutual aid" agreement, the Devon and Cornwall force is required to provide officers for events such as the NATO summit and Olympics. However Tony Hogg is worried about the impact on effective local policing, particularly during the summer months when more than eight million people visit Devon and Cornwall.

Exeter city centre will be full of servicemen and women, past, present and future as it celebrates Armed Forces Day on Saturday 21 June.

Men who keep a mobile phone in their trouser pocket could be inadvertently damaging their chances of becoming a father, according to a new study led by the University of Exeter.
