As part of [ art : weapon ], the MolinoGroup will be supporting two local theatre companies in developing work inspired by the themes of the residency. Creating work which explores the relationship between art and conflict, Squiffy Cabaret and New Model Theatre will produce brand new pieces as a double-bill – presented to audiences for the first time.

FAT! That's what I'm making a show about. My fat. Your fat, maybe. Fat. I've been fat for a long time now, and I thought I was fat, even when I wasn't, and as such, I've been thinking about fat for even longer. So I made a show about it. Our bodies and egos are fragile, our ways of talking about them inadequate, so I can understand that you might not be up for talking about fat for an hour. So I'll make you some promises:

Communities' own remedy for crime

More than 1,000 people across Devon and Cornwall have taken part in a consultation process which allows communities to decide how low-level criminals may be punished in the future. Police and Crime Commissioner Tony Hogg carried out a summer long consultation asking people across the peninsula what sanctions they felt would best deal with those who commit crimes such as antisocial behaviour and vandalism. Commemorative sundial unveiled in Drewsteignton

A World War One commemorative stone sundial was unveiled yesterday (Tuesdy) in Drewsteignton Village Garden to mark Remembrance Day. Chiefs remember fallen peers

For 100 years they had gone unnoticed, but 12 former Exeter Rugby Club players and officials were today officially remembered with a new commemorative plaque at Sandy Park.

The lives of the forgotten few were highlighted in a special memorial service which took place in a special Remembrance Service held at the stadium on Armistice Day.

For years, Exeter Rugby Club have proudly displayed within the County Suite a memorial plaque of the names of those former players who paid the ultimate sacrifice during the Second World War.

Work on Cost of Living in Exeter continues

Work to find out more about the cost of living in Exeter continues to take place following the conclusion of a comprehensive survey.

The University of Exeter carried out the research on behalf of Exeter City Council into the impact that low wages and high costs of living has on people living in Exeter. The work is part of a City Council-led Cost of Living Forum which was set up last year.

County's adoption team win top industry award

Devon County Council's adoption team has won a major industry award as part of National Adoption Week.

The British Association of Adoption and Fostering (BAAF) has announced Devon County as Local Authority Adoption Team of the Year 2014.

The team received their accolade at the awards ceremony last night week at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London.
