They are the last survivors of Kafiristan and inhabit three distinct valleys up in the Hindu-Kush mountains of the North West Frontier of Pakistan. There are no objects before the painter, just pictures on a screen. Distant images of unfamiliar structures enter the authority of abstract space where different rules apply; they are simplified, flattened, suspended in mid air and given new colour as they interact with each other.
The forms refer to the influence of science upon our thinking in the last century, pushing out ideas of spirituality and theosophy.
Zanne Andrea’s sculptural assemblages and installations include items that are continuously arranged, layered and edited to explore the relationship between power, politics, history and memory. By bringing past, present, found and made together she considers how we negotiate and conjure meanings between image, object, colour, form and material.

FINAL plans to transform Budleigh Salterton Hospital into a health and wellbeing hub for the local community have been given the go-ahead.
The board of the Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust, which manages the hospital, approved the full business case for the development at its meeting on Tuesday 24 March.

After months of preparation, the Castle & grounds will be open again to visitors from Friday 27th March to Friday 30th October 2015, and provides a perfect history-laden family day out. The Castle is open from Sunday to Friday from 11am to 4.30 pm.
