Devon County Council was among six winners today at the annual national NHS flu fighter awards. The panel of judges, including the editor of Nursing Times magazine Jenni Middleton, said that the Devon team’s remarkable efforts will be promoted across the country to inspire similar work. The owner of a tyre waste business has been given a 15 month custodial sentence, suspended for two years, and a two year supervision order after illegally storing almost 84,659 waste tyres at several sites in Devon. The case was brought by the Environment Agency. The Exe Egg Chase will run during the Easter holidays, starting on Saturday March 28 and running through to Sunday April 12.
People taking part have to find small, Rugby-ball shaped chocolate eggs which are hidden at a number of businesses along the estuary trail route including, Saddles & Paddles, Toby Buckland Plant Centre, Stuart Line Cruises, Darts Farm, the Salutation Inn and Double Locks.
