Do you know a person or group deserving of recognition for voluntary work they do to keep their community safe? Devon and Cornwall Police Partnership is inviting the public to make nominations for the second annual Community Volunteer Awards. The awards are recognition of the valuable contribution made by volunteers in support of policing services every day. Midday Mile to get workers moving

The inaugural mass participation, Workplace Challenge Midday Mile takes place at noon on Wednesday 20th May.

Award for flagship Science Park building

The iconic gateway building to the new Exeter Science Park has won a prestigious regional architectural award.

Eagle House, home to Eagle One, Blue Cedar Homes and the Blur Group, has been named Best Project Under 2000sqm in South West England, Thames Valley and South Wales in the British Council for Offices (BCO) regional property sector awards.

RMT confirms strike dates

The largest rail union, RMT, has confirmed that members will be taking strike action and action short of a strike from Monday 25th May in the current dispute over pay and jobs at Network Rail.

The impact of the action will build up over the Monday the 25th and will be in full effect by the start of the Tuesday, the 26th May.

Mary's special girls' night out

A limousine picked up birthday girl Mary Mills from Hospiscare’s Exeter hospice to enjoy a “fantastic” night out with her girlfriends.

Increase of over £2k for those in debt

Local charity Exeter Citizens Advice Bureau today publishes its annual advice trend statistics for the year-ending 31st March 2015. The charity helped 6170 people directly with advice and information on 15081 individual problems.

On average, clients with money problems have debts totaling £14,746.65, up by £2,046.48 compared to the previous year when the average was £12,700.17.

The amount of advice that the charity has been able to provide has increased in the following areas compared to last year:
