On Saturday 23rd June, nine of the One Voice Media team walked the 18-mile Templer Way to raise funds for The Daisy Garland, a charity based in Totnes which operates across the UK and supports families living with drug-resistant epilepsy.

Exeter could get a stunning new waterside feature.

Plans have been submitted to build a brand new bridge and boardwalk down on Exeter’s Quayside. The new structure would replace the existing Mallison Bridge which spans the medieval leats on the north bank of the River Exe. The bridge had to be repaired in March 2017 after some wooden sections became rotten. After work was carried out, it became apparent that a long-term solution was needed. Exeter College has been named national STEM FE College of the Year and has received a prestigious award celebrating excellence in teaching in STEM.

Topsham Rugby Club car park gets a makeover thanks to local property developer

A much-used community car park at Topsham Rugby Club has been renovated thanks to local, award-winning property developer, Burrington Estates New Homes.

Topsham Rugby Club is a popular activity centre for the local community and the car park had been in need of repair for some years. Riddled with potholes and loose tarmac, the car park had begun to be a danger to users. Burrington Estates New Homes, who are currently working on their latest new homes site at EXIII, Topsham, stepped in to pave the way for the new car park and renovate it for the community.

Uplyme flood improvement scheme complete

Work on a £250,000 flood improvement scheme in Uplyme has been completed.

New culverts have been installed through Uplyme village hall car park, as well as under the B3165 Lyme Road and Pound Lane, in order to carry flood water away from the village centre, which suffers the greatest risk of flooding.

The improvements in Uplyme have reduced the flood risk to 12 properties and regular flooding to the highway.

A recent online poll conducted by Horse and Hound magazine asked readers to vote for their favourite venue and Bicton Arena was voted number one.
