Leading South West building services engineering company EX2 Group has welcomed three new apprentices this week, as they begin their professional training in Electrical Installation with Exeter College.

Christian, Alfie, and Harvey were welcomed to the Exeter offices by James Rayner (right), Project Manager. The apprentices will combine on-site experience with classroom learning as they work towards their Level 3 Electrical Installation qualifications. Staff and residents at Cumberland Grange in Exeter welcomed in the Year of the Tiger with a day of celebrations and activities.

Inspired by Chinese cultures and traditions, residents enjoyed learning all about Chinese New Year thanks to John, Tesco’s Community Champion. John gave a fascinating talk followed by serving up a variety of different Chinese foods.

It was a brilliant afternoon linking up with Tesco to provide residents with this Themed Eats and Wine tasting session.

New city centre wedding fayre to take place in March

Exeter businesses will come together to showcase and celebrate the city’s wedding industry at a brand new wedding fayre this March.

250,000 adults in the South West whose mental health got worse during the pandemic have not spoken to anyone about it

Nearly one in five adults surveyed in the South West (17 per cent) who say their mental health got worse during the pandemic haven’t spoken to anyone about it during this time – equivalent to around 250,000 people – according to research published today. More than a third (38 per cent) of all respondents in the South West reported a worsening in their mental health during the pandemic. Of those who have been concerned about the mental health of someone they care about, almost one in five (19 per cent) say they haven’t tried to talk to them about it.

A husband-and wife emergency medicine doctor team have landed in the Carribean after rowing 3,000 miles across the Atlantic as the first ever married couple to participate in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge (TWAC). A local housebuilder has launched a scheme to support youngsters keen to try out snowsports at the Exeter & District Ski Club.
