Leading South West building services engineering company EX2 Group has welcomed three new apprentices this week, as they begin their professional training in Electrical Installation with Exeter College.

Christian, Alfie, and Harvey were welcomed to the Exeter offices by James Rayner (right), Project Manager. Ability not disability provides support for businesses

A new project is supporting businesses in Devon to employ people with disabilities.

“Ability not disability” has been co-designed by Learn Devon and Devon County Council’s Adult Social Care, and Employment, Economy and Skills teams working together with people with disabilities to improve employment opportunities within the county.

The innovative programme is one of 13 projects in the county to receive a share of UK Community Renewal Funding .

Rocketmakers win South West’s first esports festival

Software development company Rocketmakers have been crowned champions of the South West’s first region-wide corporate esports festival.

The Bath-based firm pipped 15 other organisations from across the South West to the top spot in a Rocket League tournament, with the Exeter Chiefs rugby team and the Met Office among those taking part.

Hundreds of people attended Exeter vigil for the people of Ukraine

A VIGIL for the people of Ukraine organised by Exeter City Council Leader Phil Bialyk and held in Bedford Square, Exeter, saw hundreds of people attend earlier today, Sunday February 27.

Cllr Bialyk, who has family in Ukraine, said he organised the "Exeter Stands with Ukraine" vigil on a personal basis as a non-political event to show solidarity with those facing a humanitarian crisis.

Father of murder victim calls for improved CCTV in Exeter

The father of an Exeter woman who was murdered on a night out has made an impassioned plea for greater protection of people in the city centre.

Tony Cox’s daughter Lorraine, aged 32, was killed by 24-year-old Azam Mangori in his flat above a kebab shop in the city in September 2020.

Exeter School champions making a splash in the pool

Seven pupils from Exeter School competed for their respective swim clubs in the Devon Swimming Championships during January and February.

Emily Bishop competed in 10 events in the U14 category gaining four PBs with a very strong performance in the 50m freestyle placing her only a few milliseconds away from a regional time.

South Western Railway (SWR) has completed the installation of Co Bikes docking stations plus 30 e-bikes at Cranbrook and Honiton stations, launching a new eco-friendly onward travel option for their customers.
