Leading South West building services engineering company EX2 Group has welcomed three new apprentices this week, as they begin their professional training in Electrical Installation with Exeter College.

Christian, Alfie, and Harvey were welcomed to the Exeter offices by James Rayner (right), Project Manager. Residents and staff at Cumberland Grange in Exeter celebrated all things Irish for St Patrick’s Day this week. The home was decorated with shamrocks and balloons to mark the day.

Held on March 17th, Saint Patrick's Day actually observes the death of St Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, but the day has come to be a huge celebration of Irish heritage and culture.

Residents asked to have their say on planned new cycle route along Rifford Road

Plans have been unveiled for a new two-way cycle route in Exeter, described as the ‘missing link’ in the city’s network.

Devon County Council says the proposed 700 metre stretch along Rifford Road, between the junctions with Ludwell Lane and Honiton Road, would complete the city’s north-to-south E12 route.

Once completed, it will form a continuous route running from Polsloe Bridge station to the new railway station being constructed at Marsh Barton.

Tesco customers buying fruit or vegetables in Devon will be helping to support children living in food insecurity.

From 21 March until Sunday 3 April, Tesco will give a donation when customers top up their trollies with healthy fruit and vegetables in store or at Tesco.com during the supermarket’s Buy One to Help a Child event.

Spring booster jabs are being offered to people at greatest risk of COVID-19 infection from Monday 21 March in the latest phase of the vaccine programme.

An additional Covid-19 vaccine dose is being offered as a precaution to people in Devon who are at extreme high risk from COVID-19 infection, many of whom had their first booster six months ago. Seaside lovers can now rent one of the new beach huts for the day (or week if they fancy) at Budleigh Salterton.

The new ‘short-term hire’ beach huts have been commissioned and funded by East Devon District Council (EDDC) and include five large huts and seven small ones - were put up this week, replacing old structures that had come to the end of their natural life.

The general public will be able to make bookings through the Budleigh Information Centre from the 1 April until 23 October 2022.
