Leading South West building services engineering company EX2 Group has welcomed three new apprentices this week, as they begin their professional training in Electrical Installation with Exeter College.

Christian, Alfie, and Harvey were welcomed to the Exeter offices by James Rayner (right), Project Manager. Council’s community testing service ending but outreach team will continue to support vaccinations

Devon County Council's community testing team, which has been delivering a mobile lateral flow testing service, as well as COVID-19 vaccinations, to local communities across Devon since January 2021, will change its operations from 1 April .

South West receives more than £2.2 million investment from Bikeability Trust improve access to cycle training

The South West will receive £2,236,741 to help more children learn to cycle with Bikeability.

The funding is part of a record £20 million investment for the Bikeability Trust from the Department of Transport. It will be used to deliver cycle training for children and families.

Exeter Fundraisers reach £13,000 milestone for Guide Dogs

Local fundraisers in Exeter have won recognition this week for raising £13,000, funding a guide dog into a partnership with someone with sight loss. Thanks to these hard-working volunteers, guide dog Kane is now fully funded to support someone with sight loss for his working dog career.

It costs around £55,000 to breed, train and support a guide dog throughout their life. Guide Dogs continues to support the dogs during their time working as a guide, so the £13,000 figure covers the cost of food, vets’ bills and ongoing training after the dog is partnered with someone with sight...
