RGB Building Supplies is delighted to have raised a fantastic £8,400 for Devon Air Ambulance and Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust over the last 12 months.

The support RGB received for its fundraising efforts was overwhelming despite the COVID-19 pandemic having affected how its branches operate. The money was raised from the sale of RGB’s ‘Love where you live’ charity calendar, donations to its branches and the sale of promotional ‘bulk bags’. The sale of RGB Building Supplies’ ‘Love where you live’ 2021 calendar has raised £3,140.50 for Devon Air Ambulance and Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust.

The calendar features photographs that celebrate the region. All the photos were taken by south west residents, including a picture of Exeter Quay by Kate Coldrick. Everyone who had a photo chosen for inclusion received a £100 voucher to spend at their local RGB branch.

Old Mill raises £5,000 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance

Accountants and financial planners Old Mill have raised more than £5,000 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance by hosting an Autumn Dinner Dance.

More than 100 people supported the black tie event, which was held at Bowood House in Calne on Saturday 15th October.

Guests were treated to a three course meal an also enjoyed an auction, conducted by Charles Lucas, a director of Chesterton Humberts, a raffle and live music from local band The Shadow Monkeys.

Gregory targets next generation during National Lorry Week

Devon based logistics business, Gregory Distribution Limited (GDL) will be using National Lorry Week (19-24 September) to recruit the next generation into the transport industry by staging two impressive vehicle displays in and around Exeter later this month.

There are plans to display a 44–tonne Gregory articulated lorry for two days at Exeter Services (20th and 21st) along with a number of vehicles from other South West transport businesses, and at Exeter City Centre’s Bedford Square on Princesshay (22nd and 24th).

The Devon Air Ambulance Trust’s (DAAT) campaign to fund night time flying by the onset of next winter has been given a huge boost by logistics business Gregory Distribution Limited.

The Devon based transport company has had a 44 ft trailer liveried with DAAT’s stunning night flying images and campaign message – ‘Help Us Make Night Time Flight Time’ – with the vehicle entering service on Gregory’s Devon Chill operation operating out of its North Tawton depot from where it will gain maximum exposure across the county.

Motorcyclist injured in collision with lorry

A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a lorry near Kentonon Friday (10 October).

The collision between an HGV and a motorcycle happened on the A379 around 4pm.

The male motorcyclist sustained a serious leg injury and was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth by air ambulance.

The A379 was closed for some time between Red lodge and the Swans Nest roundabout.

Lapford gardens open for Air Ambulances

Lapford & District Horticultural Society open their gardens on the 28th and 29th of June in aid of Devon Air Ambulance Trust. Twelve unique parish gardens can be viewed including the school and allotments. Nine gardens are located in the village, with three about a mile away.
