Teignmouth lad Luke Friend and Scotland’s Nicholas McDonald will join forces for a one-off gig at Torquay’s Riviera Centre this Saturday 18 January.

This is the first time Luke and Nicholas, who came third and second on The X Factor respectively, will have shared the stage since the show ended in December last year. Since then, these incredibly popular teens have remained great friends and are both relishing the idea of doing a show together for their thousands of fans.

Luke praises fans after 'wicked' gig at The Exeter Daily auditorium

Devon X Factor star Luke Friend has thanked his fans for making his home coming gig a 'wicked' night.

Luke appeared at The Exeter Daily Auditorium at the city's Phoenix Theatre on Friday where he performed in front of a sell-out crowd.

The 17-year-old, from Teignmouth, topped a bill that also include former The Voice contestant Adam Isaac and up and coming Charlotte Ward.

The Exeter Daily, which promoted Luke's gig, caught up with him last night to ask about the experience.

Five Friendies have now won the chance to meet X factor legend, Luke Friend, face to face this Friday.

The competition winners received the news from Luke himself in a phonecall from his Teignmouth home this afternoon.

Luke, his mum Sue and his dog Gizmo met with Oli Justice from The Exeter Daily to congratulate the winners.

Winners were thrilled and several were left speechless with excitement.

Exeter Chiefs are excited to announce that X Factor 2013 star Shelley Smith will be performing at this weekend's Heineken Cup encounter with Glasgow Warriors at Sandy Park (3pm).

Exeter-born Shelley, who made it through as one of the 12 contestants to Live Shows working alongside mentor Sharon Osbourne, will be performing live on the pitch at half-time during our latest European fixture.

Devon's Luke Friend is preparing for stardom, despite failing to reach the X Factor final.

The 17-year-old from Teignmouth failed to secure enough votes to go through to last night's sing off but despite that he is still being tipped for the top.

And among those singing his praises have been a number of celebrities.

Elli Goulding, who dueted with Luke, from Teignmouth, on Saturday night tweeted: "I loved performing with @LukeFriendMusic. What an absolute legend. Goooooo Luke!!!"

Devon's Luke Friend has made the final five acts in the race to see who will be the winner of this year's X Factor.

He was described as that dark horse of the competition by judge Sharon Osbourne and Oritse from hit band JLS also backed the 17-year-old to win.

Hundreds of people turned out in Market Harborough, Leicestershire on Saturday at a charity gig to raise funds for Jack Rigby, the son of murdered soldier Lee Rigby. Despite freezing temperatures, large crowds donated to watch acts including X Factor's Giles Potter, Britain's Got Talent's Michael Collings and headliners Remedy Sounds and Dretonio.

Our boy Luke Friend absolutely smashed it on last weekend's X Factor with the judges labelling him the "dark horse of the competition".

I first saw 17-year-old Luke Friend, from Teignmouth, perform earlier this year at the Exeter Festival of South West Food & Drink under a relatively tiny little tent with little more than his guitar and a mic.
