Sam Lee's Singing With Nightingales

Wild nightingales will be among the guest artists when the Mercury Prize-nominated folk star Sam Lee brings his acclaimed SINGING WITH NIGHTINGALES event to Exeter's The Phoenix arts centre on Wednesday 9 May (8pm) - combining music and story-telling with a live link to woods where the birds are in full courtship sing.

The evening is a concert version of the campfire nights which the roots music promoter, The Nest Collective, has been running at nightingale sites in south east England since 2015 and which are happening again this Spring in Kent and Sussex.

Wildlife improvements planned at Honiton Bottom Local Nature Reserve

East Devon District Council Countryside team is aiming to improve bio-diversity in Honiton.

The play equipment currently in the Honiton Bottom Local Nature Reserve is coming to the end of its serviceable life and is due to be removed over the next few months. This change of focus provides an opportunity for East Devon District Council Countryside Team, who manage the site, to bring about improved habitat for a range of wildlife.

Devon Wildlife Trust’s Family Fun Day

Devon Wildlife Trust is inviting families to ‘bee creative in the garden’ at a special wild bee family fun day in Exeter.

On August 3, the charity will be opening the gates to the Cricklepit Mill wildlife garden for a family event that aims to celebrate bumblebees and solitary bees, heroes of the pollinator world.

Children will have the chance to create a range of bee themed craft items, including alder bees to hang in the garden, bee mobiles, badge making and bee jewellery.
