Online meetings begin as part of NHS consultation on future services in Teignmouth and Dawlish Consultation dates: 1 September to 26 October 2020

Local people are invited to join a series of online meetings as part of an NHS public consultation on the future shape of health and care services in the Teignmouth and Dawlish area.

More than 16,000 copies of the full consultation document and response form are landing on doormats in the Teignmouth and Dawlish area this week to ensure local people can find out a proposal by NHS Devon Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG)....

If you have visited Teignmouth you will probably have visited the TAAG Arts and Community Centre in the town's Arts Quarter.

The Community Centre was created from a derelict commercial garage 10 years ago and since then has been serving the local community with arts and well-being workshops, galleries and related facilities. The Council planned to demolish it as part of their development plans but strong local support led to the building being offered to TAAG to buy.

Innovative new dementia service launched by Mayor of Teignmouth

An exciting and innovative new dementia service has just been launched for the local community of Teignmouth. The Ness Shed is built on the researched and well-known concept of the ‘Men’s Shed’ and, using the expertise of trained professionals, creates a unique environment for individuals with dementia to take part in manual and creative activities.

The launch event, which took place on 23rd May, was attended by many local residents, care professionals and the mayor of Teignmouth, who announced the official opening of The Ness Shed with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the centre....

Network Rail’s South West Rail Resilience Programme held its first community drop-in session last week (Tuesday 30 October) to update residents and the local community on ongoing work to improve the resilience of the railway between Dawlish and Teignmouth in Devon.

Teignbridge District Council’ childcare play scheme Teignstars is celebrating a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating.

Newton Abbot Leisure Centre has been working hard to achieve good grades with the help of the childcare team led by Childcare Officers Karen Bush and Lindsey Thorne.

Teignstars achieved a ‘good’ rating across the board for effectiveness of the leadership and management, quality of teaching, learning and assessment, personal development, and behaviour and welfare.
