Primary school pupils from a Devon village have won the prestigious Prince of Wales award 2019, for their work tackling plastic pollution in the village.

Exeter school chosen as Community Fund finalist

RGB Building Supplies has selected Exeter’s Tedburn St Mary School as a finalist in its Well Built Community Fund and it’s now down to a public vote to decide if the school is chosen to win a stunning premium kitchen worth £9,700.

The school’s current kitchen was installed many years ago and forms part of the old Headteacher’s house. The school would like to use the kitchen to do more cooking with the pupils and teach them about keeping the area in a clean and tidy condition.

RSPCA appeal after injured buzzard found to have been shot

The RSPCA is appealing for information after an injured buzzard was found to have been shot in Devon.

The animal welfare charity is investigating after finding an air gun pellet embedded in its foot.

The buzzard was discovered in a very thin condition at the roadside in Tedburn St Mary near Exeter on Friday, 20 January by a concerned member of the public.

Man charged following Exeter drugs warrant

A man has been charged after officers carried out a drugs warrant at an address in Tedburn St Mary, Exeter.

A Misuse of Drugs Act warrant was executed at the property on the morning of Wednesday 1 July by officers from Newton Abbot CID and the South Devon Tasking Team.

Entry was forced to the address and what is believed to be a sophisticated cannabis growing operation was located inside.

Serious collision on edge of Exeter

Emegency services have been called following a serious road traffic collision on Tedburn Road, Whitstone (the old A30) after two cars have left the road at around 12.30pm today.

It is believed that there are multiple injuries and the road is currently closed between the garage near Ide and Tedburn Road as police, paramedics, fire and air ambulance attending the scene.

The A30 itself is open.

Police are appealing for witnesses and would like to speak to anyone who was in the area or witnessed the crash to contact them on 101 quoting police log 327 for the 12th May...

Plymouth man sustains life-threatening injuries after losing control of his car

A 23-year-old Plymouth man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a single-vehicle road traffic collision on the A30 at Tedburn St Mary.

The collision took place at around 5.30pm on Sunday 17 March 2013 and involved a Peugeot 106 car, which was travelling east.

The driver lost control of the vehicle, which left the road and came to rest down a steep embankment.

The driver sustained serious head injuries, which are said to be life-threatening and was taken to Derriford Hospital.
