Exeter City at home this afternoon

Match preview: Exeter City v Cheltenham Town

Just like last year, Exeter City’s Boxing Day game in 2014 sees the Grecians pitted against Cheltenham Town.

This season, however, St James Park is the venue. Last year, former Grecian Jamie Cureton was the match-winner for the Robins, and this year former Exeter men Paul Buckle and Rob Edwards are the management duo for Cheltenham.

Historically, this has been one of the more frustrating fixtures for Exeter – last year’s 1-1 draw at St James Park was the first time the Grecians have got even as much as a draw out of...

Battling soaring temperatures, the team were kitted out by a generous donation of painting materials from B&Q in Exeter, and did an excellent job repainting and revitalising the Academy’s College entrance.

Michelmores supports various local charities, including the Exeter Deaf Academy, actively engaging with the local...

Single parents in our family history & now: making a living and making it work

I have been a keen family historian for over 10 years. I also coordinate the ‘Exeter Single Parent Family Friendship Group (Exeter Gingerbread)’. Since becoming a single parent two years ago I have developed a connection with the single parents in my family tree. I have researched the circumstances that led to them becoming single parents and how they made a living in the historical and social context in which they lived.

My journey into researching family history began with my great, great grandfather’s birth certificate. Tubal Casely was born in 1848 in Wanstead, London. He is...
