Backing for Exeter Royal Academy for Deaf Education’s New Build Appeal has got off to a flying start as the charity celebrates a donation from international firm Graham-Pelton Consulting.

A team of 50-strong international fundraising consultants at Graham-Pelton Consulting – a global fundraising and non-profit management consulting firm – have awarded Exeter Deaf Academy a donation of $5,000 US Dollars (just under £3,000) towards the Academy New Build Appeal. Competing against several other charities from across the world, Exeter Deaf Academy are the first UK charity to have been awarded the donation in the firm’s history.

Exeter Deaf Academy Community and Corporate Fundraising Manager, Tori Webb, commented, “To receive this award from such a prestigious international firm has given the Deaf Academy’s New Build Appeal the boost it deserves. An exciting journey lies ahead to secure the income required for the New Build Appeal and we hope that this global recognition of support will encourage other businesses to join us.”

Susie Hills, UK Managing Director of Graham-Pelton Consulting added: “It’s fantastic that my colleagues in the US and globally can recognise such a worth-while and essential charity that needs support. Graham-Pelton Consulting is delighted to support Exeter Deaf Academy with their journey towards a new Academy. We were genuinely inspired by the Deaf Academy’s commitment and drive to securing the best possible futures for Deaf young people which ultimately, this new build will enable.”

With momentum building for the Deaf Academy’s New Build Campaign, the charity is looking for businesses to join them as they venture towards this exciting new chapter in their long history.
