Bigger Aldi reopens in Exeter
The Aldi store on Alphington Road, Exeter, re-opened on Friday following a significant refurbishment and extension.
To celebrate the re-opening, the store team gave away complimentary bags of fresh fruit and vegetables from Aldi’s famous Super 6 range to the first 20 customers in the queue.
Alphington Road shoppers can now benefit from a larger retail space of 1,240 sqm, offering an enhanced, convenient, and varied shopping experience, with a large range of award-winning British products at unbeatable prices to choose from.
The new format has been created to make shopping even easier for Alphington Road customers, with the store now having more space and clearer signs to make shopping effortless. Fresh bread and cakes have been moved to the last aisle, preventing them from getting squashed under customers’ shopping, and the store will now offer new, easy-to-browse freezers.
Alphington Road customers can also take a walk down the ‘Aisle of Aldi’, where they will find legendary Specialbuys which are available every Thursday and Sunday. During re-opening week, the store will be offering a range of back to school essentials, including leather shoes for £8.99, lunch bags for £5.99 and a school uniform bundle for £5.
The store will be run by Store Manager Nick Vanstechelman, along with a team of 33 colleagues from the community. In a welcome boost to the local economy, Aldi has created two new jobs as a result of the extension and is continuing to recruit for the Alphington Road store. Following its re-opening, the store, located on Alphington Road, Exeter, EX2 8HG, will be open: Monday to Saturday, 8am-10pm and Sunday 10am-4pm.
