From Monday 10th August until Saturday 12th September, visitors to Princesshay, Exeter can enjoy local street food at a new, daily pop-up street food market in Princesshay Square. Ottery’s Rusty Pig went north to feed the crowds at the last ever Rugby4Heroes Rugby and Music Festival held at Old Leamington Rugby Ground. The restaurant was asked to contribute to the event catering after organisers enjoyed a meal there on a visit to the area in November last year.

Robin Rea and his team took their outside catering converted cattle truck to Leamington, a round trip of about 360 miles, to supply a variety of pork and beef-based dishes, including locally produced Dunekswell Dexter beef burgers.

Ottery St Mary’s popular Rusty Pig collected the top award for its delicious street food at this year’s Nourish Festival, held at Bovey Tracey.

The Devon Street Food Awards at Nourish Festival in association with Devon Life celebrate the very best street food in the county.

The judges were Devon Life Editor Andy Cooper, ITV weather presenter Kate Haskell and Alex Murdin, Devon Home Cook of the Year.

Street food producers from across Devon entered the contest, with Rusty Pig awarded The Best of the Best after the judges were impressed by the stand’s Dexter sirloin...
